About the Role

As a Companion, you’ll provide personalized, relationship-focused support to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those living with cognitive challenges like dementia. This role is about more than just assistance—it's about building genuine, meaningful relationships with our clients and helping them maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in friendly and meaningful conversation to provide social interaction.

  • Accompany clients on walks, outings, and appointments.

  • Assist with errands, including grocery shopping and light household tasks.

  • Provide companionship over tea, meals, or shared activities.

  • Offer transportation services and mobility assistance as needed.

  • Help with small outdoor tasks (e.g., gardening, light yard work) based on interests.

  • Provide encouragement, emotional support, and a listening ear.

  • Open to taking on other miscellaneous tasks to best accommodate our clients

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in caregiving, social work, or community support is an asset but not required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (preferred but not mandatory).

  • First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Clear criminal background check (required for the safety of our clients).

  • A passion for helping others and creating meaningful connections.
